Nothing ‘is’ Immediate at Artspace Portsmouth

The first of three exhibitions from the project Nothing ‘is’ Immediate successfully opened at Artspace Portsmouth, after a six month postponement due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The two person show, a collaboration between myself (Tony Spencer) and Kate Street explores the relationship between the elements of Fire and Water. Responding to the tangible and sacred geometric aspects of these elements, we devised a synergetic installation, with therapeutic sound activated by the movement of the viewer within the space.

A soft opening took place on Friday 23 October 2020, and was greatly appreciated by attendees from the community of Portsmouth and beyond, including artists and arts professionals who had not been to a Galley since Lockdown was introduced back in March 2020.

On Sunday 25 October, myself and Samantha Britton from Sirenity Sound for the Soul, delivered an online Sound Bath, streamed live from the Gallery space, to audiences across the UK via the zoom platform.

Audience feedback from the Sound Bath:

Jacqui: Thank so much Tony and Sam was lovely and feel very peaceful x

Janet: Wonderful deep mysterious sounds

Dhal: Thank you both, really enjoyed it this evening. x

Just fab -)
