24 Jan Selected for CAS Emerging Sculptors Development Award 2024
I am delighted to have been one of eight artists selected for the CAS Emerging Sculptors Development Award (ESDA) 2025, a programme designed to support and elevate early-career sculptors working in outdoor contexts.
As part of this award, my work will be featured in a group exhibition at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey, running from Saturday 24th February to Sunday 14th April 2024, open daily from 10:00 to 17:00. Visitors are warmly invited to attend the Meet the Artists event on Sunday 25th February 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30pm.
Organised by Chapel Arts Studios (CAS) in partnership with Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, this exhibition showcases new sculptural interventions by eight artists selected from over 50 applicants: Sandra Camargo, Beatrice Galletley, Harry Chadwick, Srabani Ghosh, Alice Sheppard Fidler, Olana Light, Tony Spencer, and Nicola Turner. We are also joined by our ESDA mentor, Rebecca Newnham, Fellow of the Royal Society of Sculptors, who will exhibit alongside us.
The CAS Emerging Sculptors Development Award was created to address a gap in support for early-career sculptors, particularly those working outdoors in the South, Southeast, and Southwest of England, and London. The programme included an intensive four-day development residency where we worked closely with experienced art and business professionals to build sustainable practices, foster collaboration, and grow professional networks.
All sculptures in the exhibition are available for sale.
The project has been generously funded by Friends of the Garden, with additional support from the Roche Court Educational Trust and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens.
