I’m pleased to announce the successful completion of a Master of Arts in Art Therapy with Distinction. This achievement was gained from the University of Derby, and marks a significant milestone in my professional and creative career. It reflects my deep commitment to the therapeutic possibilities of the visual arts.
As part of the MA, I developed a project investigated how puppetry and embodied character work can support emotional expression, storytelling, and the exploration of personal shadow aspects within therapeutic settings.
The work drew on principles of the six-part story method, symbolic play, and trauma-informed practice. It demonstrated how psychological transference into imaginative media can foster agency, and transformation for clients of all ages.
The project has already sparked interest among practitioners and educators, highlighting the growing role of creative modalities in contemporary mental health care.
I look forward to expanding this work through workshops, community engagement, and ongoing clinical practice.
